Making A Video

Right gents,

I'm off with the family to France for two weeks on Monday, and am hoping to make a bit of a video in my spare time whilst I'm out there. Does anyone have any tips as to what makes a good one and what doesn't. I don't have a proper trials bike yet, and am riding a converted mountain bike on which I'm running a 18-16 gear ratio on, so it wont be anything big, as I've only just learnt to wheelie, although my hops and pivots and that are coming on well, so we'll see. To be honest I'm just really looking for tips from anyone who has made movies as to what to put in there, and what to stay away from.

Thanks

James

The main thing is the music i would say, some people have music that really doesn't go.

Say you ride like danny mac, you wouldn't want some crazy metal stuff.

Another this is the effects, some just show half the video in slomo, that gets real boring.

Just watch a few vids and see what you liked about them the try put a bit of that into your own.

Thanks,

I've downloaded some free editing softwares so I'll see which works best. I ride a lot like Danny Mac in terms of style, just nowhere near as good, so i guess heavy metal is out of the window, although I can't stand it myself so I wouldn't have ever have used it anyways. Something like Temper Trap or Vampire Weekend maybe? Any recommendations?

As to Bristol, I live on the outskirts in a really nice little village so I wouldn't know what its like to live further in, but there's a load of really nice features to ride and muck about on in the centre and in the various shopping centers and parks. Loads of mountain biking as well, I vaguely recall Ashton Court is being used for the practice venue for the mountain biking in the Olympics, if there is such a thing? As with anywhere there are some pretty sh**ty bits but they're easily avoided, so all in all a great place to live.

So yes, any recommendations as to what sort of music goes well in a Danny Macaskill style street trialsy-ish video?

Thanks

James
