How Original
Anyone know of a relatively cheap but good camcorder so when I am a bit better on the bike I can start making decent quality videos that are easy to put on my PC and edit? LordMersey
If you can I would recommend a sony minidisc camcorder. They are around £200 though

How Original
Budget I would say probably up to £300.Anyone got any links to the ones they use? Also like that one you use Ogre, but could probably do with a little bit better picture quality...

Krisboats
Better quality?? They record in 720p high definition! You can still get better quality with some over others within the 720p bracket. Also not many do true 1080p, which can be useful. A better manual focus can help make the footage quality a lot better as well, something the little cheap cameras often don't include and even ones like my more budget HD camcorder don't implement well. Low light sensitivity is also a key feature to look for, something the panasonic brands do rather well... canon too i think. Optical image stabilisation over digital any day, and you should be able to get one with optical for the £300 budget if you do your research. The little sub £100 micro HD cams are okay for the odd thing here or there, but if you want to make some decent videos rather than a selection of clips then you'll soon find yourself looking for better equipment. Panasonic or canon would be where i start looking if i were you.
LordMersey
If you have got up to £300 then I would recommended this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DCRDVD450E-Handycam-Camcorder-Internal/dp/B001RWXVII/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1279711440&sr=8-
Krisboats
Firstly, that's £450. Secondly, the only reason you would buy non-HD now is if you wanted pro filming features like interchangeable lenses etc or if you were on a really small (sub £100 budget). Thirdly those DVD camcorders were a bit of a fad from a time when people were switching from analogue cassette tapes to dvd players in their homes and companies thought the public would want the same kind of "pull the tape/disc out and whack it in your player" approach that we were currently accustomed to. Luke Dunstan
http://super8exchange.com/braun-nizo-s480-3-p-281.html?currency=GBP It's far off HD but it'll look amazing.
