Mod To Stock

Hey Guys, I have always ridden MOD but recently I have been riding my friends stock while out with him, and the general size of the bike feels to fit much better, and I can gap further with the stock...

But I only have one issue, the front end feels to short... do any of you run a long stem on a stock?

and any suggestions to a stock bike?

cheers

I feel exactly the same when I ride my stock which is why I'm changing the entire front end, forks, stem and bars, to go for a high rise stem and some decent riser bars to get some height at the front.

I believe that there's someone on here, maybe more, who rides with a mod stem on his stock so it's not unheard of to have a long high front!

I ran a 150 X 30 Viz Welded mod stem on my Adamant A2.

It felt horrible with a Trailtech Sport stem, and still quite bad with a TartyBikes stem because they were so low.

But the mod stem felt just right :)

That looks a lot better!! I really do like your bike mate! Something to think about for sure!

I've tried a number of combinations in the past and found that with bb rise of around 40 and over a very good stem and bar combo is an Echo SL 138mm stem and Trialtech Risers. It's a fairly long setup but also gives sensible bar height.

Generally if you're going over from mod you might want to try a stock bike with slightly higher bb rise (35-45mm). Don't go over 50 unless you know you like it. Many people don't.
