Maxie_Monty Posted July 15, 2010 Report Share Posted July 15, 2010 The BB5 disc brake is a brake with only one ajuster wheel to move the pad closer to the rotor. on the BB7 however, i believe that there is 2 ajuster wheels to get a more precise closer alignment to the rotor. Laurence--Trials Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 15, 2010 Yeah you are right Ball Bearing 5 or Ball bearing 7, so at a guess they are both as powerful as each other and seeing as I want to save money am I better going with a BB5? cai Posted July 15, 2010 Report Share Posted July 15, 2010 Yeah it makes no difference which you choose regarding preformance, thats down to the pads you choose and your abilty to keep the rotor from getting contaminated. Setting up a BB5 is a little harder than a BB7 as you can't just twist the outside knob to make the outer pad move in and out (like you can on a BB7). But if you can set it up nicely then you won't notice any difference in power. I'm actually running my BB5's instead of my BB7's - as I find the outer knob used for pad adjustment on a BB7 tends to slip Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
