reddragon1995
Are there any riders willing to tech a complete newbie? I live in cleckheaton west yorkshire and want to start trials. I'm buying Reflex Psycho Jump bike as my first bike couse i dont wanna break an expensive bike while lerning basics. i got a broken hand now and wont be able to do anything till middle of august as i have to wait 8 weeks for my rehab to finish then i can start. also are there any good spots to practice more advanced techniques? i know there is a bmx track on the spenbrough swimming pool and another one on the spen valley if you go bradford way just on the other side of the bridge. Bronz
Ah right, makes sense. Erm, a few years on and off, had a full year out 2008–2009, then six months out from September 2009–March 2010, then non-stop since then.

reddragon1995
i think of buying this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Reflex-Psycho-Gents-26-Jump-Bike-/270592393746?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3f00904212 dont really know anything about what trials bike should be like but mum says i cant spend more then 140 on it ;/ and i want a 26" one because i want to use it for ordinary riding aswell do u think it would be good enough for start? Bronz
Well if that's your budget (which I'm afraid isn't a great deal) you're best off waiting 'til you get validated and picking up a second hand one on here. I'd also suggest getting a 20" to learn on. They're widely accepted (though not always) as being really really easy to pick up the basics on you see. The one you linked to looks really ill suited to trials, looks like it weighs a ton too!
reddragon1995
then i got a little problem to solve think i will buy this one then upgrade it slowely couse my mum doesnt want me do trials to much otherwise she would give me better funds ;/ i know it weights a ton but i dont think thats not too big problem for trackstands and bunnyhops. gonna have to work on my strenght and stamina a lot though Edited July 14, 2010 by reddragon1995
Bronz
…think i will buy this one then upgrade it slowely… There's nothing on that bike that you'd keep for trials, you'll end up replacing everything and starting with a whole new bike. I picked up my first trials second hand for £145, you should try the same. Is your mum paying for it all? Have you not got any of your own cash to use/put toward one? reddragon1995
Is your mum paying for it all? Have you not got any of your own cash to use/put toward one? wasted it all i didn't know about this sport a month ago
dann2707
There is hope yet as I paid £90 for my t-pro! Just gotta find a good bargain. Check gumtree, its where I got mine for so cheap
reddragon1995
gonna check it later. still got about a month till my hand gets better so i might find somewhat better even if i will change the whole bike part by part later on ( which i probably gonna do like with my last one ) atleast im not gonna sell the parts like i did last time so i got a spare bike if it breaks / gets stolen when i get it would you teach me the basics i read all the info on trashzen but its still better to haver someone showing and watching u Edited July 14, 2010 by reddragon1995
Bronz
I live in Leeds now so I very rarely (if ever) ride Cleck, but stya_bear who I linked to lives there still and I'm sure he'd be happy to show you the ropes.
reddragon1995
thanks and leeds is not far from cleck i can just get on a bus with my bike and i'm in the city centre in about 30-50 mins
Bronz
They won't let you on with a bike I'm afraid
reddragon1995
did once (only tried once) i think it depends on time and traffic still bike has wheels i can just ride there
Bronz
Really? Not bad! Haha you'd never ride Cleck–Leeds on a trials! stya_bear has to ride from Cleck to Brighouse then train from there to Leeds…
reddragon1995
thats why i dont want a 20" wheels it would take hours to get there on 26" it wouldn't be as hard but still hard this topic changed into a private chat i guess dann2707 what time and where do u meat on sat?
