Luke Dunstan
I'm 6ft 2, and about 13 stone, riding a mod but its a short frame. I guess that for the taller gent a longer frame is better?? Pros/cons?? Cheers guys.
Revolver
Although BMXs are really short and tall people can ride those, meaning it's just preference.
aener
Tall people riding short mods quite often complain of back pains after a while. What frame is it that you have?

ATM it's an 07 T-pro. Thinking of buying a Zhi, they're a bit longer.
6ft-midget
I rode a T-Pro for a while and I'm 6'5", I had no problems with it. If it feels uncomfortable then maybe a longer frame is for you, but as already said there's no fixed rules, it's just down to preference. MiuSliS
It depends on set-up, in my opinion you can ride a short frame but you need good stem and bars set up. I'm not THAT tall, I'm only 6'1", but i ride Fans which has 995 WB. But i'm running it iwth long stem, decent rise and bars with nice sweap. Maybe you can try a longer frame9if you have a possibility) and see which is better for you.
Captain Scarlet
Bars and stem make the biggest difference in this. Fact. Either frame size can ride like crap with the wrong bars. The growing trend is either; short bike with high bars, or long bike with low bars. Personally I love the shorter bike for the flickier aspect of it, which ultimately is why you would want to ride mod. If you've got a larger barge to move about then you might as well be riding 26". dirt jumper jake
Im 6ft4" and ride a short frame and get back ache, thats why im buying a GU Tp long, my mate also has a long version of my frame and i ride that much better than my short one. LukasMcNeal
I'm 6ft 3 and I definatley prefer long frames. When I had a smaller stem got backache and now I have a trialtech stem which is alot longer and doesn't mean I'm so crouched! Although it can't just be me but when your tall and ride mod you look a bit silly IMO but who cares we all look silly with no seat!!

That is true, I'm getting rid of the T-pro, and going for the Zhi Z3, got an extra 5mm, also just got Echo stem and riser bars. Hopefully will make a big difference. Krisboats
Are people really this tall though? Because i'm definately 6'5", and every t-pro has given me back ache within a matter of minutes. Seems every time i go on group rides as well these "so called tall people" are often a couple of inches shorter than me.
Muel
I noticed that when I rode regularly, people saying, "yeh I'm 6' 3", no trouble", then see them on a ride and they're an inch taller than me if that. I'm 5' 10.5".
Revolver
Nyeeeh, I'm 6 foot and I can ride my BMX fine. ...Unless I try lots of manuals in which case it hurts my back.
Matt Vandart
I doubt you. Fair enough, but you will find that playing with your stem and bars set up will give beter results than 5mm of wheelbase increase wich may or may not be negated by the forks anyway. It's the reach that you need to change not the wheelbase

Luke Dunstan
Ah I see, that'll teach me to read posts properly :$ Haha, don't worry. A lot of people seem to have the bars angled forward, does that make a big difference?
Matt Vandart
To me it makes the bike feel awfull when not on the back wheel.
