Box
I've got some Echo TR mounts that don't need those plastic washers to align. One side is perfectly square, but t'other is slightly on the piss. Has anyone tried filing the tops of the mounts to square things up? Looks pretty straightforward but just wanted to see if anyone had any tips or advice.
josh barker
there meant to be like that until the pads wear in, hence they have no plastic washer to set up with
Box
I'm pretty sure that they need to be square ideally...
Muel
Tarty recommend filing the tops of the mounts flat to solve this actually. Just file the mount that is on the piss slightly to make the mount lean over in the correct direction. Then just refit and check how well it has worked, if not, try again. Remember you only need to take off maybe a tenth of a mm each time.
Box
Do you reckon it's better to do one set at a time? I saw a vid TNN made where you do the both sets at a time, but couldn't help thinkin that if you started doing it wrong you'd end up messing both mounts up. AdamR28
Do them both at the same time, this means you'll get both mounts square to each other and therefore the rim.

As said above file them both and you'll be fine.
