Theo
How do you remove the pad compound from the aluminium backing? When I took off my maggie from my handle bars I unscrewed the bolt all the way out. When I tried to screw it back in it snapped the clamp device clean in half. How can this be avoided? Pretty bored at work so any help is much appreciated.

'Maximum torque for handlebar clamp bolt is 4Nm. Over tightening this bolt may cause the lever assembly to break and this is not covered under warranty.' Pull them out with pliers EDIT: seen as we are on the subject, does anyone have any ways of getting pads out of normal plastic backings? so i can put them in my aluminium ones? Does this mean I could get some money back? Pull them out with pliers Ill give it a go

That's normal. Magura could check the casting on the lever if you like (by x-ray) but we have found that this type of break isn't usually covered under warranty, sorry.
