hah :D ive been ridinf trials for 8 months and i already want to try it....why? it looks so cool when you dont have brakes and you look like unstoppable..with brakes you mostly it looks strange but without you have speed and pulling out everything you know you bunny hopsomething manual on it than for example 180 thats so awesome i know its not really trialsy but anyway it improves your riding with brakes a lot i think.after trying brakeless once i think ill see things differently :)

A couple of things - firstly, with manual-180s you're actually better off learning them brakeless in that you learn how to do them properly. Most people I've seen with brakes trying to do manual-180s seem to just put a massive bitch-crank in for some reason. Well, I say "some reason" - the reason is that they aren't doing them properly, whereas when you're brakeless you have to learn how to work around the balance point to get the pop for the 180. Manny-180s aren't the sole reason to go brakeless though :P But yeah, the other thing is that when you don't have brakes on you tend to try and ride spots differently, as well as "just" doing trialsy stuff. When I ride places now I like to try and do proper trials stuff too just to learn to do it on this bike, but I also try and ride stuff a bit differently too if I can, in ways that if I was on my mod (or even on my 24 with brakes) I probably wouldn't because I'd still be thinking about it in a trialsy way. Virtually all riders who most people consider to be 'street' who still run brakes are still just basically doing fancy backhop trials-based lines mixed in with a bit of back wheel BMX related stuff, whereas if you can't just rely on your 'normal' style of riding because you haven't got brakes on any more it forces you to reconsider what you're doing and how you do it.

Riding deathgrip and having no brakes on the bike are totally different, it's weird. Knowing you've not got the safety net at the same time as being forced to approach things differently makes for a much more interesting ride if you're stuck in a familiar few spots, or are getting bored of hoppy hoppy gimptrials (Y)
