Dušan
I think this will be a bit unusual question/discussion.... well i was told by my friend that more high your bottom bracket that higher you can get and and its easier to gap and all stuff... that seems logical for me and it really like that i have a pitbull 07 this should be the geo wheelbase:1065 mm Chainstay:375mm Bottom bracket(BB)height:+10mm a topic about this was on observed someone said that a short stem would make it a real street machine so i want to know what is meant by short...something like this?short stem or something like thisMy actual stem length or similiar i want to ride street mainly but i also ride on the pallets and kind of that stuff match i dont ride on rock very often only like 2times in 4 months? so what should i do i also feel when i put my front wheel on 3 pallets i ha ve problems with moving the rear on while helping with front brake. iam not that much long so i like the length of this frame but BB is just not very good if i will want to change but stay at 26 the bb with +50mm are 1080mm long and more (iam 5 feet, 7 inches. tall) so what do you think should i do? dont know if this topic is even readable cause i was getting the information about this while writing it.... Thanks Dušan
forteh
Lower BB makes the bike more stable when on two wheels, easier to loft into a bunnyhop or manual. Higher BB makes the bike more stable on the back wheel but can make it harder to loft the front, its also less stable on both wheels because of the higher centre of gravity. The high BB bikes with longer wheelbase dont always feel that long (after all 1080 is only 15mm longer than yours now which can be mostly taken out using short rake forks) because the reach is about the same, with a high bar and stem they can feel really flicky. Best thing to do is play about with a couple of different stem geometries and find what suits you best, if youre still new to trials and learning, then its hard to say how changes to your bike setup will affect your riding. For a +10 BB I would imagine something like a 110-120mm x 12-15* rise would be about right for your height. Im the same size as you and ride a triton deema with 1085, 385, +35, using a trialtech sport bars and forged stem and it feels just perfect for me for how I ride; my only complaint is that I cant really bunnyhop it easily as Im not tall enough. Someone with more experience will probably be along soon to tell you the complete opposite

forteh
what do you think of trialtech stem TRIALTECH SPORT 120X17? I use it myself and I think its suited to my frame very well, you might find the bars a bit high, although that will just make it easier to bunnyhop - go for it, you can always sell it on here if you dont get on with it

Ali C
I generally find high bb bikes harder to do most stuff on including sidehops and gaps. However hooks were easier.
