What rim have you got? If you sand your pads, they lose their sound, but I don't know why... When I sand my pads because I want them to be straight parallel with the rim, I always leave them in the freezer for 20 minutes afterwards. They work ace after that!

You might have ground your rim too often and as a consequence you have killed your grind...

Who did you buy these pads from? Make sure they are set perfectly straight to your rim and they should be back on track with loud locking noise!

This is quite strange, I never lose the sound of my coust after 2 years of use and two pairs of pads.

Are your pads dirty or your rim with some dust?

Try to clean it, specially rims, with alcohol.

I sanded mi pads at least 2 times and never lose their sound neither.

Maybe because i use a litle line of tar. :rolleyes:
