dann2707
Hey. I've just been riding my local skatepark for a few hours. Now on my return I've noticed that some times the chain is proper tight and sometimes slack, when the wheel goes round. When I'm normally riding down a hill and the chain is whizzing round, I hear some friction like noise and feel it get tighter. Although like now its not acting up but after a while it does it again. Really in need of help! Thanks coxy x
Sam Moss
check the rear hub because this happened to me and i took it apart and it was all bent inside the hubshell. it was like an oval shape instead of a curcle. this caused the axel to moove which lead to my chain doing what yours does. have a look and see if thats why
dann2707
Oh, now I'm back at home it appears to be related to the freewheel? I'm spinning my pedals backwards and it comes across a really tight spot which requires more pressure to spin, feels very rough like no bearings. Its a tensile 60. AlexxRogers
All Free wheel's do it, its the threads on your cranks, it's mentioned in one of the tarty bikes guides, I believe. Alex.
Alex Dark
Make a spoke tensioner...adjust chain tension with cams so on tight spot it's perfectly tensioned. Sorted Ask me if youre stuck, I has pictures of me tensioner
dann2707
Thanks for the super fast replies. Proper appreciate it I'm now home and undone the bolts holding the cranks on, they felt really loose And tightened the freewheel as best as I can doing the bodge a screw driver and pedal backwards. Sprayed some luby lube and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. See what happens tomorrow. Cheers again. Coxy x
Simpson
And tightened the freewheel as best as I can doing the bodge a screw driver and pedal backwards. You do realise pedaling does up the freewheel?
