Lifting The Front Wheel

Hi Guys,

I have been trying to do this: http://www.trashzen.com/lifting-the-front-wheel.php

I don't have a trials bike but I have a MTB (Trek 3700). Look at some of the threads I have made to see pictures of it.

Anyway, I am having trouble getting the front wheel up then balancing on the back wheel. What I am trying to do is pull a wheelie, than pull the back brake on, but my front wheel just goes down.

What am I doing wrong? Any tips/advice?

Thanks

James

There was a great vid posted the other day in a thread called something along the lines of 'how can I make a good trials video' or something like that!

Have a look on there and watch the video! And most importantly keep at it! Your get it in the end!!!

Rockings definately the best method I found years ago when I first learnt, kicking straight up into a backhop took quite a while to master.

It's easier to kick up into one when you've mastered rocking into a backhop and kicking forward, to be honest if I were you I'd try and get hold of a copy of Tricks and Stunts DVD as whilst its quite old now it does a good job of teaching you the basics!

You probably will find it a little harder than normal though to do on a normal MTB compared to a trials specific frame due to the geometry.

Thanks guys. I have just bought a Onza T-Pro which should make it slightly easier, well hopefully it will!

I will let you know how I get on!

try it differently for me the best way was that i found some little wall put my front on top and starting to do back hops on rear when i mastred that i try to hop to front and that way you will also learn pedal kick :)this skill is really just about practice for me it was also unbelievable but you can get it for sure ;)
