Oldskooltrials
Hello, i currently ride a 04 zoo pitbull but want to go back to a mod bike,i was thinking about getting an echo lite or zoo lynx frame but wonder if its worth waiting for the 2010 frames? Does anybody know when they will be released and what changes they are making? I was also considering a KO KM1 or an Ozonys xr20, i didnt know either of these existed till last week as ive not ridden much since my son was born 4 years ago but im trying to get back into it now before i get too old! Are there any other frames ive missed ? I need something as long as possible as im 6`3, and strong as im not far of 15 stone although i hope to reduce that with a bit riding! Im going to use as many bits from my old Monty as possible,i hope it all fits? Any feedback will be much appreciated. Sorry if this post looks a bit crap,we didnt have the internet when i was at school, probably why its taken me over 2 years to post anything! My current ride My old monty xlite 1999 My old Zero
ogre
you should be able to use everything on your monty (don't hold me to that ) you might wanna invest in one of the new high ep freewheels, your best bet is to call tarty and have a decent chat. otherwise aim to get validated and pick up a bargain in the for sale thread. Oldskooltrials
Yeah i will almost certainly end up getting everything from tarty unless i go for the KM1 which they dont stock? Trials-uk sell them but ive not heard anything ,good or bad, about this shop so im not sure? The monty needed a new freewheel from day one, only 20ep and a lockring that constantly came loose and had to be threadlocked in place! The monty also came with huge air bubbles in the magura hoses that are see through, quality bike!
mods
It seems these days trials uk has very poor customer service. This is why they are not used really. At least not by the people on here. More on topic, just because your tall a long frame is not the answer. The top 15 riders in the world ride short mod bikes.. Dont go really long and end up regretting it. The long zoo! lynx and echo lite are not too long, so these may be ideal for someone your height. Hope this helps.
isitafox
Yeah I wouldn't worry about a long frame, I'm 6'3" and 14 stone and I've got a short 07 python which feels fine. As for Trials UK, don't even go there! When you get validated you'll probably find some good stuff in the for sale but it depends on how big your budget is, seen as you've ridden before there's no reason to not get a new frame as you don't have to worry bout trashing something whilst learning like most of the noobs on here. Oldskooltrials
Thanks for the advice, I'll stick with tarty. Just got to choose between the zoo and echo,I prefer the look of the echo but think the zoo may be stronger? Also when I got my pitbull back in 04 about 2 weeks later the 05 frame with the "wings" and shorter rear end came out and I was gutted. Not sure if I should wait for the new models to come out or not as it's just my luck the same thing will happen again!

I'd go for the zoo just a little bit stronger.
Twista
I'v go a short Echo Lte 09, really is a great frame, the only thing I've noticed is, the bottom bracket area flex's quite abit, but it hasn't been a problem. Also, have a validation vote from me to help you on your way
