My contracts for 24months Quite a long time, but after 18 months i can get an upgrade... probably be a 3Gs if they produce on them 4G iphones look snazzy like. not too keen on the squareness though,... So what will be the difference between the 3gs on 4g softwear and the 4g? Edited June 11, 2010 by mods
Muel
4g is more powerful, has a better screen, better battery life, better multi-tasking, and has this special glass which is supposed to be really strong and scratch resistant.
isitafox
Although you won't be able to jailbreak it, mine'll be staying on 3.1.2 for a while yet!
Luke Rainbird
You'll be able to jailbreak it in no time at all
isitafox
You'll be able to jailbreak it in no time at all Nah took them months to figure one out for 3.1.3. and I don't trust that enough to upgrade yet!
Luke Rainbird
As far as jailbreaking is concerned, 3.1.3 has been jailbreakable for ages. In terms of unlocking, however, it gets a tiny bit more complicated. They had it figured out almost straight away, but didn't release it. When 3.1.3 came out, the update did virtually nothing except throw in an annoying baseband upgrade basically. It was Apple's way of trying to get the Dev Team (& co) to release an unlock so they could patch the exploit before 4.0 came out. If it'd been released sooner then Apple would have just fixed the hole and you'd have been unable to unlock it at all.

JD™
Say what? http://gizmodo.com/5559977/first-broken-iphone-4-shows-new-glass-isnt-that-resistant Come now Danny, you must agree that that looks practically impossible from such a short distance from the ground, and that the lack of a video of a test that would be of massive importance is dodgy to say the least? I say that's been smashed with a hammer or similar...
Danny
Oh i agree its probably had a fair old whack. I just doubt its much stronger than the old screens. But to be fair ive never broke the screen on my 3G yet know people who have been through 4-5.
JD™
Yea, I'm gonna get one on release day all being well - I'm going to aim to just not drop it, that should do the trick!
Tomm
So such thing as an iPhone '4G'. I presume he means 4g as in 4th Generation. That's how they've always named all the various iPod down the years. It all just got confused when the 2nd iPhone was 3G.
Muel
So such thing as an iPhone '4G'. Sod off. It's pretty obvious I meant the iPhone 4...
