The main rule is use the longest lever you can to turn the sprocket - also make absolutely sure you're loosening it in the right direction (It's a standard right-hand thread) ... Chain whip and stand/stamp/(maybe rubber mallet it abit to loosen it) on it (be careful mind). WD40 it like crazy. Grind it off. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aener Posted May 28, 2010 Report Share Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) If you've got a double-walled rim, I tend to try putting the chain around the sprocket, put that ends of the chain in the clamp sprocket facing down, put as thick as possible a bar through one of the holes in the rim and butt it against the right hand side of the hub body, push bar in anti-clockwise direction when looking from above.
