3dd
I need some decent forks and know that trialtechs are, but it just always freaked me out that it has a thread inside the steerer. Just wondering how long is the tread because obviously it will need to be cut down and is it possible to do it on my own. Is it still possible to run a star nut inside it or ask tarty to cut them for me and make the thread longer (i heard they have the speacial tool)? Would go for rockman or try-all but tarty don't seemed to have any 4 bolt ones. Thanks in advance.
Adam Griffiths
The thread runs about 1 and a half inches into the steerer. you can run a star nut with them just bash it through the thread and it will be fine. hope that helped. I have had some viz forks they had the threaded steerer but the snapped and the trialtech ones tarty sent are amazing forks compared. (disc versions). Al_Fel
The thread isn't anything to worry about mate. I've cut loads down and never had a problem with it. You could always bang a star nut in there too if you wanted to. They are about the best 4bolt forks out there.

gu trials
Thanks guys. That helped. So just cut them and bang the star nut inside i have mine cut down and with no star nut, just make sure its a smooth edge once you have cut it down rather than just leave it like people do with forks with no thread

AdamR28
So just cut them and bang the star nut inside Exactly If you do want some extra thread in there just let us know, we have the tap as you said before.
Mark W
If you're going to run a star nut, you can run the tap through 'em again and bang the top cap back in if you want.
