Reverse Magura Mounts?

Dougal

Recommended Posts

When I first started riding with my Onza Ice it had a Magura Louise disk on the front. This soon changed to a Magura HS33 which seems to hold a lot better for me. However my forks are sure to give up on me in the next few weeks, I thought it would be best to find out some opinions on the reversed Magura mounts on 20" forks such as the Try-All Forxx.

Many Thanks.

You know when you say reversed, do you mean when the mounts are on the back of the forks?

Kurtis(Y)

Yes thats what I meant by it :$ is that not the correct term then because me and my friends have always called them reversed mounts.

Thanks, Dougal

They pull the braking force into the forks, rather than away from them. This gives more braking power, yet the forks are more prone to cracking around that area as there is a fair bit more stress put on that area.

exactly. They should actually make a plate there similar to a brakebooster, which spreads the stress over a larger surface area, and it will also reinforce the welds on the back of the forks too (which always tend to crack at my forks). I have no idea if anyone has tried that already, but I think that would solve that problem right?

(please excuse the English, I'm Dutch)
