Moddifying Maggy Clamps

I have heard of people modifying there maggy clamps to do away with the black plastic washers, so that you only get in and out adjustment.

my question is how do i do it.

i allready have some, a mate wants some direct clamp but has no money and i have loads of ramdom maggy mounts lying around so i thought i would have a go at making some

I don't think you can really because it would require you to add material to the standard mounts... You could bodge it but it wouldn't be right. I'd just stick with the standard ones with the plastic washers if he can't afford 'proper' ones I'd say.

Done it....works great Got this set-up on the front of the coust, hammered it all day today and no issues what soever. Simply file the top part of the mount down until you don't need the plastic washer...keep testing them together

If you've got lots of random clamps, i think you can achieve the same thing by running bottom clamps top and bottom?

I've done it with Deng (Adamant) clamps.

Get the bottom halves and file the little bit that sticks up, so it makes the gap smaller = Clamping down onto the slaves = WIN!
