Desmond Derv
Ok, my bike has the stock v brake and today when I was trying to get my bike on the back wheel it kept slipping like hell, the cables have been tinkered with so it's only a few mm away from the rim and a nice squeeze stops me dead but when I try ge my first pedalup started it just slips. I am thinking about buying a good hydrolic rim for the rear but I'm not sure about echo's 'version' of the hs33 it's a few quid cheaper and I love the look of the red one (will match my other red buts lol) but is it a cop out? Is there a reason 90% of folk use hs33 and not echo? Also any hints or ideas on a good but fairly cheap front hydrolic caliper for disc? Got a cable for now but might aswell upgrade at some point lol.
Revelation
I would just like to say stay the f**k away from echo brakes
Jamie East
What setup you got? pads, grind, cable, lever etc. These can make a big differnece to the brake performance. V brakes can be just as powerfull as maggies, but i'd stay away from the echo brakes, been known to leek.
isitafox
Always a 2nd hand front disc for sale on here matey and if not check ebay. Usually go for about £20-£35 from what I've seen. As for the rear I've always used maggies so would advise the same!
Le @ Tnn Engineering
Go with Maguras they are more reliable.
Greetings
There's nothing wrong with Maguras, so why buy Echos? Echo brakes seem to be ok now but I still wouldn't trust them on my bike.
konstant
The Echo SL levers are seriously nice though... really comfortable and the hose is right out the way. Ideally I'd have Magura slaves and an SL lever Edited May 16, 2010 by konstant

Rear Magura always on a stock....mod disc/magura on the rear.
