Canardweb
Hello, I would like to ask a little something: I have switch from a smooth trialtech double walled rim to my NoWar try-hole rear rim with a medium grind, and my Heatsink yellow pads don't make noise (except when I ride fast and feather the brake). For example, when I want to get on my rear wheel, it makes more a rubbing noise than a honk. Is that normal? Because I have never ridden these pads on a grind before. Could this explain that? How long do the Heatsink yellows take to bed in?

How long do the Heatsink yellows take to bed in? ye there not bedded in yet but just give it time and they will be fine, it depends what your doing realy, my coasts took about 1 hour on a grind but i dont know about how long for yellowsm if you just ride you will feel a difference, they will start to make noise and will hold alot better. hope i have helped. chris

forteh
My cousts never had to bed in, they were perfect when I setted them as brand new. And their performance never changed... My yellows were pretty noisy from the outset, they were also awesome straight away; the bedding period just seemed to be whilst the pads quickly wore to the shape of the rim. If the brake works now but its quiet then even better, I miss the old koxx browns that would swoosh rather than honk A noisy brake doesnt equal a working brake. konstant
What's the performance like? Surely that's the main issue... What frame and booster are you running? (if at all) Really stiff setups make less noise.
Alex Dark
Should have stuck with the Cousts Ermmm...maybe a sharper lighter grind

forteh
No worries, I am back to the Coust! as the Heatsink never bedded in after an 8 hour ride... Thats really unusual, mine started working straight away, Ive found that all of my heatsink setups have worked better with slightly more flex than on stiffer frames. I had reds on my hifi and with a 4bolt booster on there it had zero bite or hold, took the booster off (just using the built in one) and the brake was phenomenal. When I got the triton I put the 4 botl back on as I was worried about the ti frame flexing too much, again there was zero hold but a little more bite, ditched the 4bolt for a small carbon 2 bolt and it works perfectly. I find the flex allows the pads to bite and hold better. IIRC youre using a vee setup, presumably with a booster, try taking the booster off and see if it helps; could also be related to the fact that vee pads cant 'roll' and bite like magura ones can. Matt Vandart
HONK! HONK! I found some random blue magura backed pads in my pile of trials crap, that don't honk, but they f**king work amazing, have no idea where they came from either, they even hold amazing when my buddy was riding with the rims soaking wet (It was very annoying, stoopid broken ankle). Absolutely no idea what they are.
