trial1966
I am thinking of buying a frame that dosnt come with bash plate mounts. Is it possible to weld the mounts on?
Laurence--Trials
What frame is it? and why don't you just use a bash ring?
PeanuckleJive
It is possible, but aluminium welding is pretty hard so you'd need somebody skilled to do it. Just use a bashring, far lighter. And heavy bashplate hits can damage frames
trial1966
I was thinking of getting the speedrace fans 20". The only reason I would like a bash plate is because I do biu comps and everyone has them
Alex Dark
I was thinking of getting the speedrace fans 20". The only reason I would like a bash plate is because I do biu comps and everyone has them DO NOT DO IT....the welding will massively weaken the frame if you don't later get it heat treated back to the original U6/ T6 temper. In short, leave the frame as she is, or buy one that has bash mounts.
craigjames
Surely you're better off at buying a frame that already has bash plate mounts? Even if you could weld the mounts on and get it heat treated back to standard, the frame itself isn't designed to have stress and impacts put through that part of the frame. In short, don't do it! trial1966
Ok I don't think I will do it now. What do you think ok the rockman manus or onza limey 320?

I've ridden a 320 a hell of a lot more than I have a Manus but I found both to be awesome. Personally I would go for a 320, but that's just me; tough downtubes, love the tensioning system (the same as on my Limey 3) and look nice too.
