JT!
Sponsorship is a two way thing, you need to be good enough, or have something about you to promote your sponsor well enough to make it worthwhile. The it's a case of asking around or waiting to be asked.
Jamie_Trials
cheers andrew Im not called andrew Bring a video out and if you get lots of good attention then you may be in for a winner, contact places that you think may be up for sponsering. Hope it helped
Ali C
you have got to think "what can I give". Sponsors wont give you anything for nothing. Sponsors will give riders stuff (discounts, parts, money) as long as they are getting the promotion to the punters who could be buying the product. Comp riders will get sponsors if they can get good results and their names on the results sheets. Some sponsors my support riders if they make promotional videos others for doing shows and other promotions. I am lucky in that I have some great sponsors. I used to do fairly well in comps, but more recently I have (with OBM's help) gotten a good selection of good quality photos and video footage. But I also do shows with the Clan and have just got back from a video and photo shoot with Victoria Penalton (name drop) in London for a Gatorade ad campaign. If you work hard, get good on a bike, behave well and get people to want what your running then your on the road. don't forget why you ride though, riding to me has and will always be for the fun (and the money if I can get it lol). Have a search, I wrote a longer "guide" in the past

Ali C
the other side of the story is that a sponsor may want you to run parts you may not be keen on or do stuff you may not want to do.
Maxie_Monty
In my opinion also, i believe that it would be easier to get a sponsership from a company or brand if it is in a quiet town that maybe hasnt fully heard about trials biking and so therefore dont realise the potential that it holds if you get me ? Any local bike shops that take an interest in trials biking? If so why not ask if they will consider sponsorship if you promote their company and make a video for a sample of your riding ? To be honest, not always about the discounts and that, good to know that someone is backing you and giving you more of an insentive to ride and record

Bronz
To be honest you sound like you're trying to run before you can walk. Just enjoy riding at the moment and worry about sponsorships if and when when it comes to it. Edited May 13, 2010 by Bronz
