trials_pimp
Just got an XS26 for my new frame, but having a few problems building it. I have been riding a 20-17 ratio for years, but the chain ring hits the frame on the Ozonys. So I bought a 128mm Trialtech bb, still hits. So I changed my Ratio to 18-15, and it still hits the frame. Ive got Middleburns with a heatsink bashgaurd. What have other riders used on these frames? I have managed to get the cranks to fit, by fitting another spacer behind the BB cup to move the BB outwards, but this isnt ideal. Also what tensioners did people use? to get my 74 kingz to work I have had to add a 1/2 link, and I hate them with a passion.
Adam Griffiths
I'm using a 74 Kingz tensioner on mine and it's working fine a little loose but still holds the tension. A TrialTech 18t on the front fits fine misses by a good 2mm. I was running 22:18 on the old frame and found it wouldnt fit on the new one. Ben John-Hynes
I'm using a 128mm BB, Trialtech cranks with a 18t fixed sprocket and bash and a 15t at the rear. Clears everything on mine by miles! And a Rohloff tensioner, bashed and whacked it so many times and it's perfect still. Nice and tucked up too if your chain's the right length! I am running an almost identical setup with: Echo TR ISIS 128mm BB Trialtech cranks 18t fixed front and 15t rear. I did have a problem with the sprocket rubbing the frame but that was with a 118mm BB and with my Echo 128mm BB it has plenty of clearence. Edit: the only thing that I can think of is that the Heatsink bash ring is thicker than most other setups, so it means the chain ring has to be run closer to the frame. I am also running a Rohloff and have not had any problems with it and without any halflinks. Edited May 4, 2010 by Oli P
pashley-phil
I've just got the xr26 and lucky i brought a middleburn 18t chainring bash guard off trials-forum, otherwise i would of had the same problem as you as i was running 22-18. i'm now running 18-15 and it clears it perfect Also the rohloff tensioner is the best tensioner by far, keep a look out on here as they do pop up pretty cheap
Tall_Rob
Hey Lee, I was using 16/14 ratio when a rode it. I was also using a Hope pro2 on the rear and 74kings tensioner. Never had any issues. Plenty of chain wrapped around the rear cog and no slap. Would you try that ratio? I hope you're enjoying the frame otherwise. Regards, Rob
mata22
i have 18 t on adamant cranks and 15 back, and i did tensioner by myself--> same sistem as rohloff oh jes, and i have 128mm truvativ gigapipe bb but i had that problem on my old old frame zoo pitbull, i used truvativ hussefelt 22 t cranks and it rubed frame, ring was to big and bb was not width so i had to change bb and them it was ok in my opinion and my set up there is no way that ring could touch frame
