Desmond Derv
My question is simple, would you pay a small fee for an online/pdf magazine specific to Trials Bike, all the ones I have searched for on the internet are moto trials and as yet haven't found a push iron specific. I'm thinking either 1 month or every 3-4 publication. My idea so far, Inside: New products - what's hot, what's not Guides - Building, maintenance, tips tricks with riding Readers input - stories about 'Joe Bloggs' etc.... Rider Profiles - Pro riders info, rides etc... Other? - I'm open to many suggestions about more content Classified - simple free adverts for your parts (maybe a wanted section?) I think I can cobble together maybe a 'dummy' first edition using a few articles from the forums (will be asking for author permission don't worry) Was just an idea that pooped into my head granted f its stupid but just wanted to get some input. modifiedridah2k9
yes i would deff pay that. and more ermm... what about a section with pics of some recent rides that people could send in. sound like a very good magasine. also maybe some tributes to riders that have been taken away, like danny mcbean and beau. RIP. some good trials website links in it. Like tartybikes.co.uk and trashzen.com and of course trials-forum.co.uk. hope sommeone manages to make this happen EDIT:will this be ordered on the internet or just read on the internet. if read, you could put a map of the world and click on the city you live in and it could tell you when the next ride thats closest to your area will be:) Edited May 2, 2010 by modifiedridah2k9
SuperDeathMonkey
maybe, but to be honest i'd pay £4 for a physical magazine but probably not pay 90p for an online one, if im already sitting at the computer i would just come onto here to find all that stuff out. Desmond Derv
Love the input and yes all valid ideas, and I am in the process of making the first 'mock' with what I can gather but as I am no trials 'junkie' yet I'm not sure about good stuff bad stuff EDIT:will this be ordered on the internet or just read on the internet. if read, you could put a map of the world and click on the city you live in and it could tell you when the next ride that's closest to your area will be:) That's a cracking idea, well at first I was thinking a d'load email style publication but if I can barter my mate down on his hosting prices could be an on-line style with interactive media. Thinking maybe competitions? (now sure how) and again freebies (not sure how or what)
Laurence--Trials
Isn't that what Tribalzine is for? Except its free. But if it was good then yes i would pay. Would it be weekly or monthly? Edit: poll answer = maybe. Edited May 2, 2010 by Laurence--Trials

MadManMike
Maybe if you did a yearly subscription, that earned you a discount at Tarty's or something? There's so much information online now, you really need another reason to make people join up.

Desmond Derv
Ok, well as with most mag's a 'incentive' or 'gift' is what helps sell I guess, well this was my idea of the style of thing but still a little project to keep me busy and nothing more yet. Thanks for all the feedback on it though' cheers dez'

Don't know if you've ever seen it but there is a trials magazine out and whilst not solely bike trials it does have a lot in. Not like MBUK's 2 pages they dedicate Trials Magazine have competition results, interviews, bike and part tests and is pretty good in my view. Made by a guy my dad knows here in the good old High Peak. Checkout their website its here
MadManMike
Why, in 2010, can people still not work out how to use images on their website? Really, there's no need to make the page re-size the image for you (Read as: "Stretch / crush the shit out of the image")

Mark W
I'm thinking either 1 month or every 3-4 publication. My idea so far, Inside: New products - what's hot, what's not If you're publishing it every month, it's not going to be as 'hot' when it actually comes to releasing an issue. If you're just getting info from other websites and so on, you're always going to be behind what actually happens which is why you need a bit more sway with people to get 'exclusives'. Guides - Building, maintenance, tips tricks with riding Readers input - stories about 'Joe Bloggs' etc.... Rider Profiles - Pro riders info, rides etc... Other? - I'm open to many suggestions about more content Classified - simple free adverts for your parts (maybe a wanted section?) If it's non-interactive, how are people going to know if something's been bought or sold? It'd also be effort trying to contact the seller. At the moment, the FS/WTD section here is quick, easy and free to use. I can't really see how making it harder to communicate with people would improve it much. I think I can cobble together maybe a 'dummy' first edition using a few articles from the forums (will be asking for author permission don't worry) I think starting off by taking other people's articles is a pretty bad idea, simply because why would people want to download and read your stuff when they've potentially already read your content elsewhere? The best thing you can really do is either go out yourself with a camera and shoot some photos then write a story to go with it, or get people who are willing to submit photos/stories that AREN'T already online so you actually have content of your own that people can't see elsewhere. With news, FS/WTD ads and other people's stories, there's no real need for you to be in the equation at all. If it's your own content though, there is. Was just an idea that pooped into my head granted f its stupid but just wanted to get some input. Cheers Dez'
