scotty007
I have an eno freewheel which i cant get my head around. When its on the cranks arms ( Echo ) and i pedal forward instead of ingaging the whole thing ratchets forward. I pedal back wards and it ingages. Its like its been taken apart and the pawls and spring have been put in back to front. Is this posiable on the white industries freewheel. Any help would be great before i pull it apart thanks guys !! Edited April 26, 2010 by scotty007

Mark W
I think you can do, but the easiest way of sorting it out would just be to look inside it...
Matt Vandart
I don't think you can screw it on the wrong way round.
Mark W
No, but the pawls and springs can go in the wrong way. Not really much stopping you doing it wrong.

From looking at the picture here which way should the pawls be facing ? Too the right or to the left. Thanks
Mark W
They can only go on one way and have the freewheel actually work. I'm sure you'll figure it out
psycholist
Make sure that there are three long and three short pawls in the freewheel and that every second pawl is a long one. Rearranging the freewheel as described could be a very effective way to unscrew the freewheel from the crank without a freewheel tool too. Provided you get the tensioner out of the way or have horizontal dropouts...

I never ever thought of that. I had a hell of a time removing my old freewheel this weekend, could be useful out on a ride
