monkeyseemonkeydo
You don't need to split your chain to get the wheel out.

Lawnmowerman
Undo your chain tensioners, push your wheel all the way forward into the dropouts then push/lift the chain off to the side on the front sprocket while pedalling slowly. tomsutton
My bike is mod with freewheel at the front, the chain is to tight for it to come off?
Lawnmowerman
As I said, undo your chain tensioners and push the wheel forward. It'll loosen off the chain.
waduc
As I said, undo your chain tensioners and push the wheel forward. It'll loosen off the chain. after you undo the chain tensioners the chain should be loose, therefore you can push the wheel forwards and take the wheel off. hope it helps,GL Edited April 23, 2010 by waduc
Leistonbmx
Unless the chain is at a stupid short length:P
Borat
Take the crank off? May ruin the taper or splines if you keep doing it. But if your chain is a stupid lenth, it's your best bet!
matthew_coggan
should be able to get the chain of with the tool, if there is a clip on the chain then just undo that it's easy. Or if its the other type of chain the should be a pin it looks slightly different to the other links, it only goes out one way so you the tool on it the wright way.
