Revelation
I've been riding for a year now and there are quite a few riders around my area. However, they have all been riding for a long time and when we go for group rides, I'm the guy doing the smallest things. I also happen to be the youngest guy in my area (18) Although I do enjoy riding with much better people, I'm not sure what they think about me. Heres the question for the old/expert guys: Do you like/dislike riding with beginners?
pogo
Where abouts are you located?
Skoze
Quit worrying, i was always pretty shit and rode with a lot of very good riders - as long as you're good company and can have a laugh, i can guarantee none of them will care how good a rider you are. It does you good too, you progress a lot faster when you ride with people who are better than you.
cam217
haha im a bad rider and have rode with some very very good riders and in all honesty i dont care what other people say aslong as you have a good time ridng, and also it is very benificial to ride with others that are better as they can help you with your ridng. Mark W
I ride with Stan and Ali all the time, and they're both a lot better than me but it just helps me progress faster by seeing what's do-able and what isn't. Most 'better' riders seem to not really mind having newer riders around, as everyone has to start somewhere. If you're not getting in the way by accident all the time or anything like that then you shouldn't have anything to worry about - if the people you're riding with are giving you grief because you're not as good as them, tell 'em to do one.
James Quigley
Personally I think its more about your attitude than your ability. So long as you're having a laugh with these guys and not bitching and moaning that you cant do stuff then you'll be fine.
bikeperson45
I think most of the better riders can appreciate they were like that as well one day so they probably don't care that much and probably want to see you improve too
Simpson
Your 18.... and at that age you can banter with anyone older than you really, I think the main problem is when riders from 13 and under, ride with older riders, because they're just not on the same social level (obviously there will be some exceptions though)
Matt Vandart
Everyone I ride with are better than me, Dave Kerr, Ben Savage, John Shrewsburry, Martin Walker, Drew Mcabe,OZZY, Dan, all the boys from Cardiff, the Neath boys, my 8yr old son..................................... LukasMcNeal
I think that most riders won't care much as there isn't a huge crowd of trials riders. So if there is a new rider in the area the chances are that they'll want to ride with him because they share the same interests not because of the skill level.
