315r
Hello. My freewheel try-all 108.9 start to do strange noises and gaps after a year of soft riddings. I'm thinking seriously to change for other. Which do you recommend me? I have been reading that Echo SL is to much good than Try-all and the noise is fine to. I have another option that is a second hand Chris King rear hub although nowadays I'm quite happy with my rear try-all "H" hub and front freewheel. Options and comments please. BlueSmokeyJoe
Echo SL all the way. 108 positive engagements that just feel really solid and properly 'click' into place, kinda hard to describe other than it feels really well made! N.Wood
Echo SL. Every other freewheel is inferior.

Alex Dark
Tensile 60click is the most reliable FFW i have ever used....heard nothing but good about the Echo SL though. Would be choice if i went back to FFW for sure
Mark W
Defo the SL - they're just amazing. If you ever get the chance to feel a Try-All 108.9 and an Echo SL just in your hands, off a bike, you'll see the difference instantly. They're just awesome
Rusevelt
What about the new (well it looks new to me) TryAll 36.6 freewheel?
AdamR28
What about the new (well it looks new to me) TryAll 36.6 freewheel? The clue is in the name - the 108.9 has 108 engagements and 9 pawls, the 36.6 has... you get the idea
Rusevelt
On the issue of freewheels, are there any measurements to test how much tensile strength a freewheel can take before breaking? Just curious to know if a freewheel's load strength is greater than that of a chain.
N.Wood
I'd imagine they do, considering most people in trials have snapped chains but not many have blown up freewheels.
Bigman
Echo SL, I have had mine for a few weeks now, I was a little worried after coming from a very reliable CK, but it realy is VERY GOOD! Adam

Mark W
My old ENO freewheel just fell apart while i was riding one day :/ Should probably keep that lockring tight
BlueSmokeyJoe
Should probably keep that lockring tight QFT. Been running an ENO for nearly 3 years now. I've serviced it once or twice in that time and never had a problem. The only reason I have got an Echo SL is for my 26" GU. Can't fault either freewheels. Both solid with reliable, quality engagement.
mods
i used a try all 108.9 for two years and it skipped from new although very rarely. I use a zhi 72 now:S havent done anything big on it, but that been fine. If i was buying a new one it would almost definately be the echo sl or ti. 315r
It's the same as the Try-All, but with holes for extra 'snap in half across the holes'ness... WOOWW incredible! In Spain exist one local dealer that sell Try-all's and Worldcats, in this shop, the price of try-all's are 65 Euros aprox and the Worldcats 125 Euros, more or less like ENO's!!!!! Therefore I thought that Worldcat was better than others like Try-all, VIZ etc and in the same way than ENO's........ Yesterday I found other local dealer that have the worldcats for 65 euros, maybe this his REAL price..... Then I go for Echo SL for sure. Thanks Adam.
