JackZOO!
Hey guys, I've just fitted my new echo TR riser handlebars onto my ZOO! (Going for a green colour scheme) and the echo grips I have slide like crazy on the bars, meaning the bike is unrideable. The problem is that you cannot cabletie these on to the bars, because they do not have spaces for cableties, unlike other grips. I have tried spraying hairspray on the handlebars for the grips to stick onto! However that didn't work. (this was suggested to me by a fellow member of the HTBC). Any other suggestions would be great, as at the moment, I cannot ride with my new bars Thanks JackZOO!
Balls Deep trials team
Use spraypaint or petrol and let it dry always works
Jake Beach
How much hairspray do you use? I always find the tinyest amounts work best.

Hair spray is crap but if you do use it use a tiny amount like jake said but petrol works the best
alder93
But doesnt petrol make rubber crack and go hard?
Matt Vandart
I had this problem and found that Dot fluid works great, just a VERY thin bit. I advise you not to use it and any damage caused if you do is your own fault. But it works.
craigjames
Spray lacquer works a treat, spray it on, leave it overnight to dry properly and sorted.
davidlongy
Now youve used hairspray, id put them on and leave them so it dries up, or an alternative (pretty much the same thing) is deo. If they are rubber grips you would have been better not putting anything on at all, I only used hairspray/deo to get them off The best you can do is just let them dry up now, see how it does. Hope this helped

mods
I just brethe on the bar to create the smallest amount of condensation. then push the grip on from the end with my palm. Never fails. But they sometimes need to dry for a while.
Trials Punk
As has been said, spray paint. Water won't effect it like it would hairspray and petrol. If you ever need to take your grips off, spray some lynx or other deoderant down there to loosen it up.

shamus
Put them on dry. The only way. Be a man! I always use this trick with tough grips: -put some cable ties in the inside of the grip, work the grip on then pull the ties out. sorted
Sam T
what i've used before is WD40 and disk brake cleaner, dont go too OTT but a reasonable amount will work. Evaportates very quickly and doesnt move an inch! Hope this helps, Sam
Odd Socks
Hi, I have got fed up of fighting with grips. Getting them to stay on when fitted, getting them off once they need changing. I am now using lock-on grips. These are so easy to use i don't know why everyone dose not use them. Slide them on do up the screws, there on and won't move. Undo the screws and off they come ready to fit a new set. Tim
