dirt jumper jake
In fairness to them, Marino are apparently a bit better on the straightness of their frames now. Heard of a few who got them welded on the piss and that sort of thing, but apparently it's been sorted now. I guess it'd be a good way to try out some custom geometry if you wanted to give it a go, but I wouldn't really turn to one for a 'proper' frame. Thats why i bought my marino, just a piss around bike.
sstein
I don't know, the guy couldn't actually tell me what grade it was apart from it wasn't renolds or even cromoly... If I remember rightly it is A130 carbon steel and from my use of them they are not the most reliable and neither for that matter is marino. I ordered two frames a while back one trials and one 4x style. The trials one lasted 4 rides before the whole back end twisted doing something minuscule. Was promised a refund which took a couple of months and I was in the end told to chase up the money from another customer over here. Saying that my 4x one is still going strong. I am pretty sure I would not order another one, especially with the sh*t metal!
