Leeham
This is probably in the wrong section, but I have'nt been validated yet... I was wanting to buy a new helmet and just wondered what you guys all wear, torn between a skate skid lid or a xc helmet...
6ft-midget
Well I've used both and i can honestly say that i prefer an xc style helmet. Especially with summer fast approaching. The pisspots just don't have enough cooling. If you go for the Giro helmets then you're onto a winner.

philgresty
xc for sure, better ventilation, nufin worse than a sweaty head, i use a met terra and its spot on, can wear it for hours withouyt discomfort, very light too, would defo recommend
Tarquin
I just bought a Giro Hex last week, can highly reccomend it, but then again everyone's head is different! Basically, spend as much as you can afford, and get the most comfortable one you can find. I walked around the shop wearing the demo lid for a while to make sure. Definitely worth it! Andeee
XC helmets are the best. Only bad things with pee pots: They make you look like theres a turtle on your head Not enough ventilation plus your head will be sweating like madd. Good things with xc helmets is i have the giro e2 which is the top end one and they are a really nice shape n style. plus comfy and very well ventilated. Ive had my e2 2 years paid £69.99 from chain reaction still going strong a very good investment

konstant
Make sure it fits... I don't have a Giro head - none of them fit me. I have a Bell head. Explains a lot really!
