No i havent used WD40 on it rab shropshire do you have a idea what it could be or do you need the make because i cant be botherd to unlock the sheds ! rab shropshire Posted April 3, 2010 Report Share Posted April 3, 2010 if it is one of the freewheels with loose ball bearings, one of the balls may have dislodged and made its way into your pawls and springs. are you able to strip the freewheel? also is the freewheel still working as normal apart from the noise. smithy83 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Share Posted April 3, 2010 if its a tensile 96,my lockring came loose a few weeks back and was making a grinding noise as it wasnt running true and had play,i just stripped it down cleaned out ,re greased bearings and a bit of rohloff hub oil on the pawls now works a treat with no problems.duno if any help to you Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
