Borat
Easy guys, I am in need of new rims, as my echo urbans are flatspotted and the front is bent. I am going to get the trialtech deal off of tarty (front and rear rim, rim tape and tubes.) My hear hub is 36h and the rims are 32. I have no money to get a new hub, so how do I lace it up? PeanuckleJive
Miss two holes on each side of the hub, probably opposite each other, I would imagine Not a clue to be honest, just using my gut instinct
Borat
Hmm, but where would I miss the holes, like at every 45degrees? So miss 1 hole, opposite to the other.
DannyBazz (:
Just get another 36h rim? I dont think its actually possible without the build being extremely weak
Little Yoshi
Ask Ross Mcd know he managed to do something along these lines.

So miss 1 hole, opposite to the other. my idea would be to miss a hole on opposite sides of the hub flange, then do the same on the other side but turned at 90 degrees, so like you drew I think If you looked down at the hub, you'd have a spare hole at 12,3,6 and 9 O clock you'd be better off with a 36h rim really
Trials Punk
Click Some stuff in there but not much. Why not get a 36 h rim? (i know the choice is shite to be honest). Got an echo urban, seems fine to me!
TROYston
Done it on my 24, perfectly true, Just lace, and miss out 4-6 spokes. Trials bike atm has a 32 shell on a 36 rim and is bobelling, but true nonetheless.
BigAl
I've done it before, its not any weaker that a 32h 3x build.
higgzGU!
Ask Ross Mcd know he managed to do something along these lines. Was going to say the same thing he done it on the front wheel im sure.. and well that didnt last very long so i think it does make them weaker unless he is just a fat bass hahaa. Will Arnold
be prepared with a variety of different length spokes to fall back on. i've done it and it was a tough as houses
Trials Punk
why are there such a shit selection of 36h rims? I found that. The trials market seems to have moven away from 36 spoke wheels, maybe its due to weight fanatics. I still run a 36h rear, try all hub and echo rim. Quite a heavy wheel but its stiff and strong. Dan6061
Mod rim? Kris Holm is the best 36h rim you're going to find, I love my one! http://unicycle.co.uk/shop/shopdisplayproduct.asp?catalogid=
aener
Had to do this a while back. Do it like the one on the left. The one on the right resulted in a pretty floppy wheel. Red dot symbolizes a missing spoke.
Julius Czar
I'm running this setup at the moment, It's fine, but I think you'll need longer spokes next to the ones you miss out, as they have to go further to get into the nipples, I'm not sure though.
