There used to be well over 100+ active members, now it hardly ever reaches 100. Just a shit load of Bots. Is it just me? .. Your worrying about the fact that your sat staring at your PC and others are out doing something good? Why purposely make a section which only members deemed special enough can be involved in? Seems like saying 'you lot are just plebs and are not good enough to read what we're talking about.' I can understand some of the reason behind it like very young kids pestering their 'Heros' but if normal members could at least read the section if not post in it then it would remove another barrier from trials in general. Whats the big secret? It's all a bit gay to be honest. On the original topic I don't think it's numbers of visitors that is letting it down, it's mostly the inane drivel that is being written constantly, the NMC section is way more interesting at the mo even chit chat has gotten boring. It's not really a 'us and them' section really - there are a lot of topics regarding forum development to get the views of people who have been here the longest or that show enough intelligence to put across a valid opinion on something. If 'normal' members were able to read the forum, they'd just post a reply in another sub-forum so it kind of defeats the whole object. It's just a place where admins/moderators can get feedback regarding the running of the forum without it turning into a petty argument. Chit Chat has becoming boring? Personally I don't think it has - but if you think so, feel free to post something interesting up, try starting a debate on something or do something creative! Theres loadsa people that fit in that category, I should imagine at one of the meetings you were suggested, but one of the elders blackballed you. SM chat's sweet because it's nice to have something on here where people can talk about more serious stuff without having certain spackers messing everything up. It was initially started to get ideas on how to run the forum better, and that's still primarily the reason it's there. Topics in the main forum about how the forum runs just don't really work because most people don't appear to be capable of coherent thought, so it definitely helps out in terms of getting things done on here. The porn, shit-talking and pirate materials are just a bonus. I do quite often wish there where a few more serious topics on the main forum... Damn you all. So why hide those topics away from those many members? Why reduce it to the ideas of a dozen or so people who weren't really selected because of their forum development skills, but because of their level of respect. I personally have been very vocal about suggestions for the forum, some of which have actually been implemented (FS / WTD been split up into two subforums for example), I'm not made a SM because of my lack of ability to make valid suggestions, but because I'm not a respected enough member. There's no reason why the topics in SM chat shouldn't be discussed openly with the rest of the members. TF should use it's member base as the great resource is it, and from time to time we see that happen with great results. I can fully understand why there does need to be a group of people discussing things in a hidden forum, discussing topics with issues about specific members, or specific advertisers do need to be kept private. I'm not suggesting that the SM system need to be ditched, or that more SM should be made. All I'm saying for now is that some topics shouldn't be hidden away.
