Made a tee design for threadless. Any feedback? (just be honest if it's shit :P)

Also send this in, but is still pending for approval

Also made this for a "bloody cute" contest, but realized I was already to late :P

Might still send it in.

I need to design a flyer, I have an idea but don't know how to put it into practice.

Basically, I'm looking for a futuristic looking background, but I need a photo of the female DJ on there as she's well known and very hot lol

I want to know the best way to blend the two using photoshop. Is there a certain type of photo background I should use? ie White?

Probably explained that badly :(

I've been wondering this for a while, is there a name for this sort of art style? It's mostly vector and uses little to none shadowing and stale colours.

I presume you haven't done this......? It's is just vector based illustration. However there is tonnes of shadowing and i don't see where you're getting stale colours from as the teal and orange are quite bold!

It's not the method used to create it, it is in fact a type of mathematical formula used to display graphic information. The method would probably be primarily the pen tool within illustrator using it to create vectored shapes.

Without being entirely pedantic that image is now in fact a rasterized image. I said illustration was the overall area, and in terms of stylistic approach, that is up for debate. If i said 'contemporary character design' would that help you sleep at night? It's whatever it is.

Vectored illustrations often do look flat due to there very nature. There is no original light source to create genuine shadow and highlight details so everything has to be falsified to create an image with depth. This is why vectors tend to work best when they're used with stark implementation to make the most of the technique. Real depth requires a lot of work, but it can be done.

I have created some pretty 'deep' illustrations which were formed from vector graphics - but this image we are talking about does contain a lot of shadowing and does have depth.

Not all vector graphics look flat - maybe you need your monitor calibrated? It all depends on the CMYK (or rgb if for web) breakdown used. In this image there is no black used. The darkest areas (dark brown) have a CMYK breakdown of:

C: 50 R: 60

M: 82 G: 2

Y: 74 B: 0

K: 75

so this is a very rich colour and should appear on your monitor and in print as very saturated.

Does anyone fancy having a go at bringing the TF logo into this decade?

There's no prizes I'm afraid, just bragging rights :)

If anyone is interested, here is a template to work from:

The logo can expand down into the bit next to the 'Forums' link (as it does on the current skin).

Would be muchos appreciated, my skills are very much so in codes rather than pictures :(

Yeah i'm not really working with a gradient, more just creating a straight logo to be placed as suitable for now. Everything will be done in black for now to get an idea of layout/styling etc. If anything is chosen then it can progress from there to make a more finished, complete piece.

Shadowing, gradient, etc t'aint where i'm really going - i think a suitable shift to 2011 needs to see clean, sharp design that is a bit more universal.

Not sure i want to focus on the freewheel idea whilst it is one of the major development in trials over the past years. I'd like to incorporate an element about what this place is....'a forum' and have that working in the logo alongside bike related imagery.

That's what will be going in to the next design!

I agree with the middle one being better. I think it might read better reversed. At the moment it appears to be "co.uk.trialsforum." Just a thought. :)

The layout doesn't work as well like this though.

The T and F in mine sit in to the freewheel whereas the other way everything is unbalanced.
