Not sure about which bash ring but if your frame has a plate I'd keep it if I was you.

why?

you will have lots more clearance if you havnt got it on mate, if you no you havnt got a bashplate, you know youre not going to use it (Y)

just run with a ring mate

trialtech or a try all bash is what you need

bash plate, because a bash ring when u land on it puts all your weight through the bottom bracket with a shock. the bearings aint ment for big shocks as such , as they are hardened steel or titanium etc. also depending on your weight the bb wil just bend/ as i have done loads of times. but its up to the rider see how they feel. one advantage of a bash ring your trousers wont get tangled in the free wheel and wrec your clothes lol.

ive ridden with both, i found a bash plate useful when i was learning. When i progressed and got a new bike i used a ring. i found i actually used it very little, so worked out just right really. Personally i would say to go for a ring if you feel confident enough to not use it to often.

Thats a bit too broad to make any point. At one end of the scale you have hardened steel. The workhorse metal that compared to any other materials in trials is literally just used when you want to bombproof something. The strength is high and the weight is high. Then you have titanium, Titanium is a light metal but is weaker than most of the other metals used. So making a statement like they are steel and titanium is a bit misleading and inaccurate. If anything steel becomes an issue but in a completely different way because whatever it contacts and pushes into when force is applied is probably going to suffer. Imagine you have a steel bb with steel cups in a ally frame. You land to bash the force goes to the bb which will push against the frame. The frame will typically be made out of a grade of aluminium, which whilst strong is going to have a lower tensile strength than the steel. So over time will wear its way through the frame. Although i cant remember what i was going to say in this post but hopefully you have learned something! lol

I used to run a bash ring, after removing my reset bb from my white sky, which i landed on a rock got a dent/cracked frame at the bb area(wouldnt of happened with a bash plate) i found the drive side bearing to be completely shagged, wether that was to do with the force going through that bash from when ever i landed on it i don't know, also used to squash my chain up against my chainstay with a bash ring.

Personally i would stick with a bash plate:P
