ogre
are the schwalbe tyres any good? looking at this i'd try the continentals but £50 is to much for a tyre! how soft is gooey gluey? i'm used to maxis tyres and i think the wear rate of supertacky compound is about as soft as i'd like (if that makes sense)
Alex Dark
Rich Pearson had a Big betty and that was pretty damn good, if a little thin on the sidewall. The grip seemed to be around that of an ST maxxis I think, but slightly less than a Conti in black chilli
smithy83
i fitted a schwalbe big betty 2.4 evolution downhill to my bike last nite and rode it today and thought it was an excellent tyre,iv been running high rollers st for past 3months and much prefer the betty, sidewalls much more robust and it took sum hard hits today at 10psi and no niggles at all wud highly recommend in my opinion
antoine
I Just use Schwalbe om my bike, they are perfetc. I recommend a Big Betty 2,4 GG at the back and a Rocket Ron, Furious Fred or Nobby Nic 2,25 for the front.
Nick Manning
My self and most of the team (I think Rich included) all used Big Betty's 2.4 GG on the rear and nobby nic 2.1 on the front. I personally loved them, long lasting, grippy and reliable.

Bigman
The gooey Gluey is not as soft as the maxxis compounds so it may suit you abit better if you find the maxxis tyres wear too fast. I am waiting to hear more about the new michelin DH tyres, I am particularly interested in the 2.4 one listed here: CRC Michelin Rock'R And maybe the 2.1 listed would be a good front tyre, I just want to know how soft the super soft compound actualy is! Cookyboy
Expensive, dont last half as long as a conti, punture resistance is poor, they roll and fold a lot and aint even that grippy
Matt Burrows
Not sure on the Al mighty, but me and most people I know have switched to Big Betty for street. Its nearest rival is the Rubber Queen. Compared to which it is not as grippy (definitely not as grippy as a maxxis). But it does have a thicker and more uniform carcass, its more resistant to punctures and stable at low pressures. Coupled with which it is THE bounciest tyre I have ever used. Even at high pressure it is good, but at low pressure it is rediculous and does actually make you go higher/further. If you love the way a Rubber Queen rides but find them too flimsy and easy to puncture then Big Betty is a good choice. Plus being slightly smaller it will actually fit in your frame without rubbing! Don't even bother on natural though as the decrease in grip is much more noticable than when riding street.
