Whats Conventional Trials Or "Tgs" Like On A 24"

Yes, the problem is that last year there was no 24" trials bikes that didn't have a geo for street BMXy kind of riding. It's really got nothing to do with the wheels size it just happened to be that 24" wheels were on bikes that were designed street riding which kind of his half trials and half BMX. Now we're seeing 24" wheels on bikes with the same geometry range as mods and stocks. So to say 24" wheeled bike are no good for trials is certainly not right. Saying 24" trials bikes aren't as good for pure trials would have been an acceptable statement in 2009, but is now unacceptable in 2010 due to the new range of 24" frames.

Theoretically any wheel size between 20" and 26" would be just fine for trials. A 22" trials bike would have 33% of the advantages of a stock and 66% of the advantages of a mod.

You were doing great until there...

People ought to stop calling 24"s bad for trials without sufficient experience.

At the very least, consider this - if you're a 20" rider, you'll probably suck on a 26". If you're a 26" rider, you'll probably suck on a 20". So why is 24" any different?

I think that my 24" doesn't suck, but then again, I've been riding trials on a 24" for a good while now.

but are you any good....

You delete your post, I'll edit, no one will ever know. :giggle:

The point still stands though, maybe giving a % to the nearest 1% may have implied too much accuracy, but you get what I mean.

Haha yeah I know exactly what you're getting at dude. Without a load more info it's probably going to be hard to say exactly where a comparable 24" rig will sit, but it's all relative - there's such a range of different geometries sitting there for both stocks and mods across a broad range of riding types that there's huge overlap in products anyway.

Everyone knows 24" bikes are the way to go though ;)

until EVERYONE who even queries this debate actually jumps on a street geo 24", then a trials geo 24" then from own experience compare to a mod or stock, this whole argument is void. Most people on any forum trying to make a decision as to what frame, bike, parts etc to go for usually rely on others feedback of varying skill levels and 1,000 other factors to make a final decision. End of the day, if its a frame you have never ridden before, u gotta just jump in the deep end and try or buy it to see how u go! Hell im a massive culprit of this, i just got rid of my inspired and soooo on the frickin fence about whether to go for a because trials 24" or go a stock like a 1499 because i really wanna concentrate on tgs style riding and be super comfortable and stable on the rear wheel

aight, so just to get a lowdown..

Is the Inspired a nice bike to hop around on the backwheel, or does it feel like the front end's always wanting to dip down? Like, has anyone set up an Inspired that felt ultra smooth on the back wheel? if you compare to a modern day mod or stock
