Not Eating Before Drinking...

Went out last night without any time to eat before hand, so I was feeling fairly empty when I started to drink.

Obviously as I became less able minded I soon forgot about being hungry, but this morning I was wondering

is it much different drinking on an empty stomach as opposed to full?

I'm assuming that it's quicker to become drunk on an empty stomach, no food absorbing alcohol etc etc.

But does anyone know if it is worse for your liver? Bad for your stomach maybe? Or more prone to being sick?

Just something I've been wondering about

worst two cases of hangover and sick for me were from not eating before i drank! Last time i didnt eat enough, i was sick 8 times. fell in a thorn bush....twice, fell over and got all muddy...and yes it was all before 10pm, my mom gave me the 'your not my son, your a tramp' look haha

eating well before u go out is a good idea, for me anyway. But i have read that if you try and eat once your pissed to sober up the food will only absorb 5% of the alcohol so it doesnt do much to help.

Not eating first is just a really bad idea, at uni I generally only bother having dinner, but if I know im drinking I'll of least try to fit some lunch and a couple of snacks in before. The main reason I do that is because if I drink on an empty stomach I peak too early, because if I'm out with the lads on a night out I will drink, give or take 8-12 pints, but I'll still try to do the same amount on an empty stomach which is just a messy idea, you get drunk too quick. Also when I drink on an empty stomach I find I get more bloated because if you don't eat before your stomach isn't expanded.

I find that if you've been ridng all day and then drink you get drunk really quick. It happend to me the other week I didn't even drink that much and I was absalutly pyjamad I even got twated round the face by someone and we got chucked out god knows what I did to him.

I always try to eat a good dinner before drinking too and I always drink loads of water before going to bed it helps for the next day.

Hangover related tip: The sachets of powder you get which rehydrates you for when you've had the shits is literally the best stuff ever. It's full of the salts and minerals you lose and makes you feel fresh as a daisy.
