Ollied
Got a new hope brake ( second hand) , jsut bled it and put my brand new pads in etc. When i pull the brake it makes a loud noise, like a deep creaking/groaning noise.. Kind of like a quiet lorry horn.. Was wondering how i combat this, are the pads contaminated? rotor contaminated? Or anything along those lines. Thanks Guys! Luke_zoo
Could be the pads running in...
Ollied
was thinking that, would that also mean the braking performance isnt really amazing..

Mark W
Water, then drag it lots. It might just need to bed in. Is it a clunking under heavy breaking, or is it just working badly?
Ollied
Up to fronts are slippy, the pads are on their second ride, but the first ride was poo cos my diaphragm had gone so wasnt under much pressure.. And dragging it it makes a bit of noise in 2 places, and when you put pressure on it makes the noise every time. Just need to bed that shit in Spend a bit of time just pouring water over the rotor then pedalling around dragging the brake.
Mat Smith!!
Yeah pretty much drag it down a hill, or ride in the rain for abit, and it should get better, if it doesnt stop making noises and its still shit, take it off and clean it all with warm water/washing up liquid, make sure you get all the suds etc off though lol, try burning the pads to get oil out of them aswell. brad1995
What i usually do if my disks are contaminated on my jump bike is to just take the pads out and soak them in white spirit and also clean the disk with white spirit and that gets whatever is on there off.
