I dont know weather it's been said or not because i cant be asked to read the thread,

Tried moving about the spacers on the vee pads?

Less spacers on the inside will make the callipers closer.. meaning higher. Meaning more clearance.

+ they look like there sticking too far out anyways..

Thanks for the help guys. Tried it with less spacers and tried the brake on a different pin hole placement but now the springs are too weak to pull out again :/ I guess next thing to try is an extra link in the chain.

I guess it doesnt help that my outer is still about 1ft too long :P

raise the mounts, the higher they sit the more clearance you'll get...

Old heatsink adaptors - cant raise them.

I've managed to get enough clearance with an old stretched chain, barely enough but its alright I guess... Next thing is shortening the cable

I dont have any half links :/ By shortening the cable I meant that its about 1ft too long still... I'll let a bike shop do it as my pliers barely made it through the outer and left it kinda frayed... I expect they'll have the proper tools.

Looks to me that the arms are at this kinda angle. \ /

If you put thinner spacers in between the pads and the arms then the arms will be more | | like that, and the cable will be higher. If you also move the mounts right to the top it might sort it.

EDIT: Also could do better with a 90 degree noodle to stop the cable being pushed down to the tyre.

+1, the closer to vertical that the arms are when you're applying pressure, the better too.

Also had the same issue with my mod. I removed the zip-tie from the cable boss closest to the back tire along the top tube and sliding the cable a little this way or that way cleared the problem up. Had something to do with the angle of the noodle and how it approached the brake arm. Putting a small gentle bend in the cable just as it exits the noodle can gain you a few mm too, but don't kink it so much that you unravel the cable wires. Hope you get it sorted, and hope my explanation might help.

Good luck with that. I had a V brake on my mod, until I got a new tyre. Then I had the exact same problem! I made various different adapters, and ended up going back to a Magura in the end!

They're just far less hassle on a mod...
