crispyboy
I was just wondering if long or short cranks makes that much difference in the bikes ride ? Advantages or long and short and disadvantages please
Leistonbmx
Longer cranks improve leverage making it easier to pedal. Shorter the opposite.
ginger allen echo
Longer cranks improve leverage making it easier to pedal. Shorter the opposite. What he said. I had 160mm echo urban cranks and went to adamant cranks which were 170 or 175 and they feel so much better.
pogo
Sorter are better for rolling moves, don't have to pedal as much, but for static moves you need to be able to put more power in to get the same result as you would with longer cranks, shorter cranks simply increase your gearing slightly as it alters the the radius between the centre of the cranks and your pedal.
