Looking To Get Started

Hi all. I am hoping some of you might be able to give me a few tips on where to start with trials. Particularly with regard to what size bike to get. I have recently come across an Adament A1 26" bike for a good price (I think...$AU $500) It looks to be in really good nic....any ideas? Cheers

if you have any friends who ride trials or a shop nearby that sells trials bike, go along and have a go on one if you can, you'll only really know what you want once you've had a ride and felt the different bikes

mod is an option too, I've known a few people to think a bigger bike would be better for them, and then when they tried a mod they realised it was much better for them

mod is 20" wheels by the way

24" bikes are a cool middle ground :)

yeh , i agree.

but i was on a mod for a year and a bit then bought a stock and improve loads in a short space of time and got much more control.

so it is important to consider all options

im not sure where you stay, but make try (on here or otherwise) to get in contact with your local riders and ask if you can meet up and see for yourself! its a pretty friendly community in general, and im sure whoever they'll be, they'll be happy to help and give you a shot on either.

so much is personal preference...you see short guys on stocks, and tall guys on mods (and girls).

now with 24" tgs frames about to hit the market this year, with a few decent frames already out...they are a viable option too, i ride an inspired set up for static and rolling moves and everyone whos tried it has loved the feel.

check out the for sale section on here, there are some bargins going about...and if you did decide, and go for one only to change your mind in a few months time, you wont have lost out on too much financially. stick with it though, whatever frame you get, and you'll see why some many guys on here are so hooked on it ;)
