forteh
rgr? rgr = roger = agreeing with him Although my experience of dublin is pretty limited drinking wise, had enough time to get round the museum, have a pint of guiness and then jump on the motorbikes to catch the ferry back home. Technically Ive only passed through on the way back from touring ireland and had a pint :$ Edited March 6, 2010 by forteh

PeanuckleJive
The guiness there is unreal, the stuff in the factory sampling bit is indescribable we're doing the test of wether it really is better in ireland, the departure lounge should have a bar right? We need an 8am pint of guiness before we go

UrbanLegend
I stopped reading there. Prepare to be financially raped by Dublin. Agreed. I went last year and I'm going again for st paddy's day. It's ridiculously expensive. But muchos fun. Hard to do (properly) on a tight budget!
Simpson
Yep, the most expensive place to drink in the EU apparently. ie. guiness tour was like £35ph?
forteh
Yep, the most expensive place to drink in the EU apparently. ie. guiness tour was like £35ph? Was 17 euros each last august Cant comment on the cost of the beer in dublin itself as it was only a flying visit on the way home.
PeanuckleJive
I've heard that it's ridiculously expensive there, so I guess we're looking for cheap bars by dublin standard, I know we'll never find anything to match some of the bars in england What's alcohol price like in a supermarket? We'll probably predrink if we can

PeanuckleJive
How was your trip? Guinness Factory is great!! OH CREAM!!!! It tastes better than UK. I live down in Cork, so get lovely Guinness (or Murphys) anytime eventful, to say the least The flights got screwed up by ryanair so we ended up flying at 10pm instead of 9am on the day we flew out, thus missing the gig we wanted to see. So sitting in the departure lounge we cancelled the saturday night dublin hostel and booked one in belfast, plus booked some train tickets up to belfast. Got to dublin friday night, had an explore round the city and a few beers til about half 1, went to the hostel and slept til 7, then got up and got on a train to belfast. Got in belfast, booked into the hostel and then went exploring, started drinking at 1pm in a student union whilst watching the rugby which was awesome , won an ireland rugby shirt too. Went and chilled with the band while their roadies set up and drank more, all good so far. Then my mates drink got spiked, he went off to hospital because he was a mess, I went out to see him and got back to the gig and security wouldn't let me back in. So I went back to the hostel and got my sleep on. Then next day we got a train back to dublin, won a bet on rooney to score first in the united game, had a few beers and went back home. So none of us actually saw the gig we went all the way to Ireland to see but it was still awesome. Didn't get to do the guiness brewery as we all ran out of money way quicker than expected It was all a bit of a f**kup really, but still an awesome weekend
