Windows 7 Help!

Easy guys,

I have come across a problem with win7 ultimate.

Basically, using win7, my ati mobility raedon x1300 dedicated memory has dropped from 512mb to 64mb. I have googled this, and not found much.

What I have found, is that ati/amd don't support windows 7, so you have to use vista drivers. But looking, all the driver etc is fine. Some people on t'internet have said it's something to do with the cpu.

I'm off ill, with a f**ked spine and dieing to go on flight sim!

If you want to be gaming dude, get a better graphics card, ob board just doesn't cut it. :P

Isn't the mobility range for Laptops and Netbooks Mr. Smartymcsmartsmart? (Due to lack of being arsed to check, I await the backlash when I'm wrong and will take it like a man by hiding in the corner and crying)

Usually the proportion of memory given to the graphics card is controlled by the bios - nothing to do with windows. I guess one way to check would be to see how much system memory you have. E.g. If you've got 2Gb Ram (2048 Mb), and your graphics card is taking 512Mb, Windows would only recognise 1536 Mb of RAM (2048 - 512). So If Windows thinks you have 1984 Mb of RAM (I.e. 2048 - 64), then the problem lies with your bios, and you have to go in and change the settings (Press delete on startup, usually but may be different for your laptop). If Windows thinks you've got 1536Mb, then the problem lies with the graphics card drivers as already said. I would be quite surprised if it was impossible to find working drivers somewhere.

EDIT: Maybe try reading this http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/12826-ati-mobility-radeon-x1300-driver-download-install-error.html

Your laptop has 512mb of onboard graphics. That 512 is also shared by your ram so with your 3gb of ram - 512 from graphics you should have about 2.5gb of ram and the 512graphics.

Somthing is obviously not telling your ram to gief to graphics :/
