Ollie Histon
Calm yourself. Its my front vee, recently set it up running through a hollow star nut which means the cable is twisted loads, and i wondered if this could be the cause of the stiffness in the lever. Or can anybody think of another cause? How i can stop it? by the way its SD5 lever and callipers with a pretty standard cable. Matt Burrows
Disconnect the cable, do the calipers feel stiff or sticky? Is the lever pivot smooth? If both of these are ok then there is only one thing else it can be. You do have a linear BMX brake cable yeah? If your using a standard brake cable outer with sharp bends then it will feel horrible. Ollie Histon
Yeah both lever and callipers are near new and smooth, i'll have to invest in a linear cable then cause i have got a standard cable, thanks for help.
Lawnmowerman
Put a little oil in the cable outer too, not wd40, use something like 10w40 car oil etc.

Ben John-Hynes
Or just run the cable slightly longer so that there are no major kinks.
matthew_coggan
Mite sound silly but it might just be the fact your pads are to close to the rim.
Simpson
Mite sound silly but it might just be the fact your pads are to close to the rim. no I think he means the lever is hard to pull! you can never have pads too close!
