Ollie Histon
I need help, basically in my first year of Uni and just looking round for a house to live in next year with mates, I'm already massively overdrawn as it is but i've now been told in order to secure a house I'll have to pay deposit, admins fees and 2 weeks rents in the next few days, which all adds up to about 600 and i simply can't do it. Is this normal!?
Ash-Kennard
when i went to an agent they demanded like 350ish. so i told them it wasnt possible. found a random guy with 27 houses in cov and all he wants is 50 quid deposit then 1/2 rent in the 2 months of summer we arent here when our loans come through. i think i got very lucky though

I had a very fair landlord once who did a similar thing, £32 pppw back then too. If you're going through an agency or property management company then they'll probably shaft you. Up north we had a student homes office that had loads of adverts for private and agency housing, so you could find what you were looking for. If not, squat. I'm not kidding either, plus it'll be an added adventure.

weirdoku
I paid £290 deposit (i think) and £40 admin fee. I was allowed to move my shit in the house in July and only pay £50 but not live there or move in July-August and only pay £150 rent cos it was summer. Simpson
We went private, payed £300 deposit and a £40 admin fee which was split between 4 of us, so only £
