Riley1
Hello all, Im going to start building a trials bike for the Summer as I have'nt rode for a bout three years and realy want to get back in to it. I've got about a £100 quid tops to spend on a frame to get me going whilst I save for a decent one and notice that Onza T-Rex's are cheep asa chips on Ebay etc. Has anyone ridden one? and if so what are they like? would you recommend? Luke Rainbird
Welcome back, and welcome to the forum With regards to frames, it's probably worth your while keeping an eye on the FS section of the forum. Whilst you will be unable to post in here until you are validated (shouldn't be long so long as you continue to make good posts) you can always contact a member via email/MSN etc if something catches your eye, and you'll find some gems in there for that sort of money. Sure, you could spend £100 on a new frame on eBay and get a T-Rex (though I'd have thought you'd get more for your money, no disrespect to Onza) but looking second hand will bring up some absolute bargains, saving you from having to buy again to 'upgrade' in the near future What did you ride previously? Might help to give people an idea of what might suit you now

The last frame I had was a Sunn Trials Frame, pretty old skool now to be fair and i'm 6:4 so a short frame probably woud'nt do. CheersAlso, How many posts do you have to make before you qualify for the other forums? Cheers

Cheers Were/are you more TGS (was that term even around 3 years ago? it all blend in with me) style or prefer hitting lines and flowing the old skool way? EDIT: Don't ask that question, read the rules probably best to edit it out... Edited March 2, 2010 by JD™

JD™
Hi, What does TGS stand for? Cheers Taps, Gaps and Sidehops. It's just a term used to describe a style of riding where you concentrate on one move on one obstacle at a time, maybe to get that extra cm out of the move. BTW, check my edit, and act on it (i.e read the stickys and announcements). I've already submitted a vote for you which I just know I'm gonna regret if you prove you can't read... Ahh, I'd say Im more of a TGS man then in that case. Thanks for the vote as well, I probably should have read the rules and new member announcements etc before hand, my bad. Being about as far removed from TGS as you can get, I'll let someone else give you some advice on what to get...
PeanuckleJive
I guess I'm classed under TGS But i'd rather not, flowing looks way cooler One of the only stock bikes I rode was an onza T rex and I did love it, I found it really easy to control on the back wheel and generally nice to ride on, almost made me sell my mod and go stock! Thanks for the advice. saying that, I wasn't trying to go big or anything TGS wise, I was just learning the moves one at a time Go mod, join the dark side! small wheels! Cahill Trials Kid
You say (whilst you save for a decent one) I would not spend the £100 pound you have just yet and just get a better frame straight away, would save the hasle of building a bike getting used to it and then buying another new frame. just my opinion but thats what i would do Edited March 2, 2010 by Cahill Trials Kid
