shamus
manual sounds better, by miles. stoppie, sidehop, G-turn, skid, frenchies and hooks are all examples of unimaginative people naming trick Never had a manual dream, persevered with the manual. I can manual really well, MTB, trials bike, bmx can all be manualed. But it has to be constant practice. I do them every time I ride, I try them anytime I'm rolling between places/hanging around/waiting for a go on a section. Although, what hacks me off is i can't wheelie my MTB, never learnt as a kid and i'm desperate to learn how but cannae get the hang of it! Krisboats
Yep, sure have. It helped a bit next time i got on the bike but i soon realised I still had miles to go (or even metres in my case). Think i've had it about 3 times now. Weird fact: first one i had was before i could even do them, yet the feeling in the dream was bang on how it feels in real life.
Phatmike
Never had it, but used to have a 'looping out on a moped' dream quite often. I wonder if there'll be a 'balancing on the backwheel before a sidehop' dream next?
Hannah Shucksmith
I did a footjam tailwhip in my dream the other night. Felt as I'd imagine it to feel. Woke up really disappointed when I realised I actually can't do them
Simpson
Excuse any obvious stupidity, but why are manuals indeed called 'manuals'?? Odd choice of phrasing in my opinion... if I had written the Trial Manual I would have called manuals 'rollies' or something! manual [ˈmænjʊəl] adj 1. of or relating to a hand or hands 2. operated or done by hand manual controls 3. physical, as opposed to mental or mechanical manual labour The 3rd reason, no pedaling, done physically And yea the dream feels the same as the real shit, cant manual my trials bike for shit but when I only ride my bmx for a while I can do em for ages. forteh
Never had the manual dream, used to be awesome at manuals, not any more, cant seem to keep my balance - I blame it on the fact I never ride my bmx now and the trials bike is hard as arseholes to manual, its a touch too long for me to loft without looping and the rear brake is too savage to feather. Once in a while I can hit the balance point and just coast, not as easy as the bmx though, about 1/2 mile down a hill was my record <reminises about manualling the bowl both ways at the old birmingham skatepark>
